From the moment we arrived as Katie and her bridesmaids were getting ready, we were struck by how calm and relaxed everything was – a fab start to a wedding day! This definitely translated into Katie’s bridal preparation photos, and the friendly and excited atmosphere with her bridesmaids made for some gorgeous shots.

 

 

Once we arrived at Oaks Farm in Shirley, we found that the boys were looking dapper, and we loved the little ones’ co-ordinating outfits!

 

Katie and Jonny had chosen the beautiful outside gazebo area at Oaks Farm to share their vows, and although we had a spot of rain when we arrived, the skies cleared with perfect timing for the ceremony.

After a handful of traditional group photos we had a bit of fun with much more relaxed bridal party photos…much more our style!

The couples photo session was so much fun, both Katie and Jonny were both total naturals in front of the camera as they were just so happy! We are often asked about our favourite styles of wedding photography; these photos really sum it up for us.

 

Oaks Farm is a beautiful venue, and the couple’s finishing touches made it the perfect setting for a wedding reception. We especially loved the Polaroid style place cards in corks, as well as the table names – each table was named after a family wedding, complete with the date and a framed wedding photo from that day. It was a photographer’s dream!

 

This wedding was also special for another reason. In our groom Jonny’s speech, he revealed that the beautiful bride was in fact 18 weeks pregnant, much to the surprise of practically all of their guests! Somehow the couple had managed to keep it a secret from all but their parents, keeping it as an extra special wedding surprise for their guests. Even the bridesmaids (excluding the bride’s sister) had no idea!

 

This made the groom’s speech a hard act to follow for the best man, but he made sure he had the whole room in stitches.
